I haven't yet, but I would like to post the same question there. (Although I expect the results to be exactly the same). I am going to try and compile the program from the source code and see what happens. Make sure that you pick the correct package (64 bit for Catalina - the version for Catalina and Big Sur are also different) you can check the version of your MacOS using the Apple logo on the top left corner and then selecting About this Mac. I have the problem on both 8.04.1 and 8.10 (64-bit). I thought maybe that it has something to do with the fact that we are using Intel's G35 integrated graphics chip. Make: *** No rule to make target `install'. I wouldn´t know wether that's OK or not, but then I type "make install", it says the following: LINUXAMD64 OPENGL OPENGLPBUFFER FLTK TK ACTC CUDA IMD LIBSBALL XINERAMA XINPUT LIBTACHYON VRPN NETCDF COLVARS TCL PYTHON PTHREADS NUMPY SILENT ICC ![]() It's too bad because some of the other UI features I want to use (AWN, Gnome-DO) are much better to use with these effects enabled. Try disabling them by going to Appearance -> Visual Effects tab and setting it to 'none', then start VMD. But when I type "./configure", what I get is the following: For me this is a conflict with the desktop effects. In step 2, I was able to move to the directory of the "configure" in the terminal. So, I skipped step 1 since i'm OK with the default settings. Put the code in the two directories listed above. Once you’ve found it, select it and click Remove. Once you’ve found it, click on Installed at the top and either use the search box or scroll through the list to find the application you want to remove.
